Diving the 'Glupe' up in the Orkneys

The Big Scuba Show at Olympia, London was the venue for this year's BSAC Diving Conference, which saw a fantastic turnout. With its new name, new location and more of offer for the delegates, BSAC’s national conference has just got a lot more exciting.

It was a long day, the train left Nottingham at 6.28 I arrived at Olympia at 9.30. It was my first DO's Conference, getting to see and meet the National Diving Committee face to face was very interesting. They are all passionate about what we like to do, which is diving. There were lots of questions and answers with small workshops to discuss how we could improve training within the diving grades. It was good to see BSAC is still driven by it members which makes it one of the best diving organisation in the world.

It's interesting to know there are only 280 National instructors, 1000 1st Class Divers out of 32,229 BSAC divers in the UK.

The combined event mean't we could get free entry into the dive show, which was very compacted compared to the Birmingham ones in the past.
